Milo considers himself a student first and foremost. He brings a strong passion for learning and teaching. His workouts are challenging, fun and technical. Milo has trained in a variety of martial arts for over 15 years, he has a background in wrestling, boxing, Muay Thai Kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He lives and breathes martial arts, always looking and learning to improve himself and helping others in their training.

Marcy Hilario

Marcy Hilario has been Kickboxing for over 15 years and has been a Jiu Jitsu practioner for over 7 years. She is committed to working hard and enjoys training Kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Known for her intense cardio warm-ups, Marcy encourages her students to workout hard and motivates them to do their very best.

Max Nguyen
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Brown Belt

Max has been training Jiu-Jitsu for a number of years. He is an active competitor as well as a top finisher in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments both in Canada and the United States. Along with his strong fighting spirit, he has a friendly and easy-going nature. We are happy to have Max as a part of our team.

Alvin Chan
Jiu Jitsu Coach
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Purple Belt

Alvin has experience in various martial arts, including being a former black belt instructor of Aikido. His training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu started in 2000, at a Gracie Humaita (Royler Gracie) affiliate academy, eventually earning the expert rank of purple belt.

Alvin now trains under the guidance of Marc Marins of North Vancouver Brazilian Jiu Jitsu - a Gracie Academy (Rener and Ryron Gracie) certified black belt instructor. In 2014, Alvin successfully completed the Gracie Combatives program, achieving recognition for an understanding of how Jiu Jitsu is applied in real combat. In 2013, Alvin began traveling to train with Henry Akins, a renowned instructor of Rickson Gracie’s unique style of “Invisible" Jiu Jitsu. Alvin’s development and teaching approach is strongly influenced by his ongoing training with Henry.

Although well versed in the more complex aspects of Sport Jiu Jitsu, Alvin enjoys focusing his instruction on the pursuit of solid, effective fundamentals. His goal is to help educate others with concepts and methods that are reliable under pressure, and applicable to all major aspects of the art: sport gi, sport no-gi, and street self-defence.
